Canada will soon begin accepting Pearson Test of English for immigration applications
Canada will soon allow individuals to take the Pearson Test of English (PTE) when applying for economic class immigration pathways.
Beginning ‘late 2023’, the PTE will be accepted as a Designated language test by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The Canadian government had given designation-in-principle approval for a new language test last August, but had not revealed further details.
The IRCC currently accepts CELPIP and IELTS General Training as proof of English proficiency for economic class candidates.
